If I was given a chance to choose if I would rather be an academically inclined student or a sporty student, I would rather be the so-called nerd than the MVP. The reason is very simple. We would always use our knowledge, our intelligence. There will be a time in our life wherein the only thing that we have is our knowledge.
Having that great ability in sports is useless when a student is in a Mathematics, or an English class. Even if, let's say a person is the god in playing a certain sport, when that person gets old, he wouldn't be able to play the sport anymore. He wouldn't be that popular anymore. He will not be able to do what he was doing his whole life anymore. In the end, it would all be nothing.
When a person is intelligent, there would be better jobs, better pay, better everything. When they get old, they will be able to use that intelligence to teach their grandchildren. I think that everything would be better if a person is academically inclined. It is because our knowledge, our intelligence, is our only treasure. It is the only possession of an individual that no one can ever steal or imitate. It is the treasure that someone can be proud of.
